CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

Pi Lambda Theta Great Lakes Region II celebrates education and leadership excellence by extending an invitation for proposal submission to educators, administrators, counselors in the academic (K-20) and business community. We are seeking thought-provoking topics on best practices that describe and/or provide demonstrations of successful initiatives, strategies, and programs.
Workshops will be one hour in length.

You are invited to submit proposals that address the conference theme Kaleidoscope of Learning, with the following strands: through the eyes of:

  • 1) student;
  • 2) teacher/professor/administrator;
  • 3) parent;
  • 4) adult learner;
  • 5) diverse learner;
  • 6) retiree; and
  • 7) Pi Lambda Thetan.
Presentations will be accepted on the basis of the proposal. In the interest of maximizing participation by a broad range of presenters, an individual can be the lead presenter on one workshop and secondary presenter on one other workshop.

Presentations will be reviewed by a regional committee, representative of educators and learners in the academic and business community. Criteria for proposal selection are:

1) Clarity and relevance to the conference theme;
2) Appeal to a diverse audience;
3) Practical applicability to participants;
4) Potential to stimulate active engagement of participants;
5) Contribution

to scholarship and/or new or innovative practice in education and learning.

Presentation proposals must be submitted electronically preferably as attachments in Rich Text Format.  This will facilitate faster distribution to reviewers in different parts of the Great Lakes region. The conference organizers may approach proposal writers to request changes in their proposals to better fit conference needs.

Presenters must register for the conference as paying participants. No compensation is possible.

Please submit all proposals (see format below) to Dr. Sheldon Wrice at swrice1@uakron.edu with Submission in the subject line.   All presentation proposals must be submitted by February 27, 2004. Pi Lambda Theta depends upon the support of everyone who attends to invest in the success of the conference. Presenters must register ($95.00) by May 21, 2004 or their presentation will be removed from the program.  Please view our webpage,http://www.gmpcomm.com/plt/ for conference registration and hotel information.
